About Anaya Brown
Anaya Brown was born and raised in Houston, TX, deeply inspired by her grandfather and supportive family. She has a mixed background in both traditional and digital work, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Studio Art: New Media. Games and animations always inspired her with great storytelling. Her grandfather, an art teacher, supported and guided her skills and talents. He also taught her a lot about black history and the power of being knowledgeable. She grew up as the eldest of her siblings, with most of her family being women. She was raised to be limitless and to be a hustler in everything she does. Following the growth of AI and technology during her college years, she learned how to adapt the themes of her traditional work to digital media while experimenting with various software. Now, she aspires to be part of creative storytelling processes and immerse the audience in her work.
Artist Statement
Inspired by emotional content creation and my supportive family, I built a portfolio of story-telling concepts, often expressing themes of black empowerment, feminism, self-discovery, family, and other interesting topics that connects the audience. I am interested in connecting my audience to my work. I believe in versatility and diversity in art creation. I lean towards digital mediums, but keep in touch with my traditional methods thanks to my grandfather. Following the growth of AI in my college years, I became versatile in my work, experimenting with different software in my creative process. I learned how to transfer the themes of my work to digital media while also experimenting with other concepts. My goal is to push the boundaries of storytelling through immersive and interactive experiences. Whether through still images, films, or interactive projects, I strive to create work that resonates deeply with people, leaving a lasting impact on their emotions and perspective.
